AMSANT is the peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services in the Northern Territory and advocates for equity in health, focusing on supporting the provision of high quality comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal communities.

 

Work hours: Casual Contract, Up to 0.6 FTE, Hours negotiable between 8:00am-04:30pm Monday-Friday.

Location: Alice Springs

Salary: $33.96 per hour, inclusive of 25% casual loading  

 

Role Description: 

The Office Administration Assistant will participate as a member of the AMSANT Alice Springs Team and will report to the General Manager – Central Australia, with support from the Corporate Services Team based in Darwin.

 

This is a junior casual administration operational role to support the AMSANT Alice Springs Office with clerical/administration related tasks to ensure efficient operations of the office and to support program staff where necessary.

 

Responsibilities:

General Office Duties:

  • Answer and direct incoming calls and correspondence.
  • Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.
  • Maintain office filing systems (both electronic and physical).

Administrative Support:

  • Schedule meetings, appointments, and events.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence as required.
  • Assist with travel arrangements and expense tracking.

Data Management:

  • Input and maintain accurate records in office databases.
  • Process invoices and assist with accounts payable/receivable tasks.

Customer and Staff Interaction:

  • Greet and assist office visitors in a professional manner.
  • Act as a liaison between departments, providing seamless communication.

Compliance and Confidentiality:

  • Handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ensure compliance with AMSANT policies and procedures.

 

Selection Requirements (Qualifications & Attributes)

 

ESSENTIAL

  • Strong interest in training and development to develop your own skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Awareness and respect of Aboriginal culture and knowledge of current issues effecting the lives of Aboriginal people.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience working in an Aboriginal community controlled organisation

 

 

Additional information:

  • Original qualifications must be available for viewing and copies to be kept on personnel file.
  • Applications must have an Ochre Card and a Current Police Check and/or ability to obtain these prior to commencement.
  • Applicants must be able and willing to undertake travel throughout the NT and Interstate (sometimes as a light aircraft passenger) and possess a C class Driver’s Licence.
